Gum Surgery

Gingival surgery with flaps is a type of gum surgery. The gums are temporarily separated from the teeth and folded
back. Gum surgery indicates a reduction in the depth of gum pockets around the teeth that after deep cleaning did
not heal well.

Operation requires pushing back the gums and creating better visualization of deposits on the teeth, making it easier to get comprehensive debridement. The aim of the operation is to through the gum pockets to a point that is easier to keep the area clean for both the patient and the dentist.

It may be recommended for people with moderate or advanced periodontitis. Normally, first is performed a procedure that does not require surgery. This is called root planing and scaling. If the gum infection is not eliminated by this treatment, surgery with gingival flaps may be used. It can also be done in conjunction with another operation known as bone surgery.
